Soap for Hope and Literacy was founded by Ronnette Curls, an educator, children's book author and illustrator, and community advocate with a passion for helping others live healthier and more successful lives.

After witnessing the growing need for basic hygiene supplies and educational support among children, families, and individuals experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles, Ronnette created Soap for Hope and Literacy to address two critical challenges: poor hygiene and low literacy rates.

We believe that every person deserves access to the essentials needed to thrive—cleanliness, dignity, education, and opportunity.
